Nucs and new queens

Unread post by Finigan »

Hey there. Brand new to the site. Thanks for accepting me. I’ll get right to the question. I’m in my third year beekeeping. I went from 9 hives to one over the winter. Back up to 5 plus 2 nucs I made. My question. One of the nucs has a newly hatched queen and not mated yet. The nuc only has 2 that I seen drones. Will this be enough? How do I introduce more? Thanks. Darrell

The drones come from around the area and not necessarily the same hive. If there are drones around from other hives within a mile or two, you'll be okay.
