Cordovan color shades?

Unread post by Boarbuster »

Hi all.
I am a beginner beekeeper and still on my learning curve.
I learnt about the „Cordovan“ color some bee strains expose. I never saw these colored bees myself so far and I wanted to understand if the „Cordovan“ color is actually one defined shade or is there a variability of different shades summarized under this term?
Thank you.

Which bee strains did you learn about which can be Cordovan?

I am not aware of bee strains which can be Cordovan. I am only aware of one bee strain, the Italian bee.

Hi Ozzbee
Thanks for your response. Just found your earlier thread on same topic. Have you been able to find reputable suppliers of Cordovans in Australia?
