Beekeepers are notoriously bad at reporting what they actually have done, are doing, and what they thought (if anything) at the time. Here is an article that sheds a little light on the question.
I'm as bad as anyone that way and one of the purposes of the diary is to reveal how bad my memory is. This should be very obvious to anyone who reads the diary entries from any particular month in a sequence of years.
