Does anyone know how to borrow pictures from web sites with I.E. I can't figure it out. With Firefox you just right click on the photo and choose "View Image Info" and it gives you the link address to the picture. I can't find anything similar with I.E. Thanks.

Re: Capturing photos with Internet Explorer
I don't use M$ Internet Exploder, but in any browser If you want the whole original image, you can just select it and copy. Ctrl+C. If you want the image without all the baggage, the snipping tool in Windows does the trick.

Re: Capturing photos with Internet Explorer
Thanks for your reply Allen:
I don't use I.E. either that's why I can't figure it out. I know how to copy and paste but I meant to use the link on this forum with your Img code. With fire fox it's simple I.E. is a piece of crap browser, when I was developing websites if one of my sites had a problem it was always with I.E.

Are you trying to download the picture or link to it?

Hello Karen:karen wrote:Are you trying to download the picture or link to it?
Thanks for your reply. I'm trying to figure out how to link to an image in a website, without all the peripheral info when using Internet Exploder. It's easy in firefox, you just right click on the image and choose "View image info" from the drop down menu. But with I.E. the closest I can get to that is right clicking and choosing "Preferences" from the drop down menu, but it doesn't link to the image alone. I suppose I could view the page source and try to find the link to the image that way but that is a lot of work.

Re: Capturing photos with Internet Explorer
I do not use IE but do web design so have to view things in that browser.
When you right click on the photo in IE and open properties it gives the URL for the photo. You can copy the url and insert it as your link. Other than going to view source I think that is your only choice.
This page has a photo.

When I right click and open the properties I get this link which is to the photo.

IE gives you an added step compared to Firefox.
Easier to stay away from IE.

Re: Capturing photos with Internet Explorer
Keep in mind that many sites block deep linking and will not serve an image if the page on which it occurs is not loaded.

Re: Capturing photos with Internet Explorer
I think that might be what happened because below are 2 photos the top one using I.E. "properties" and the bottom one using fire fox "view image info". I probably chose a blocked image for my experimenting with I.E. I think the best solution then is to just not use I.E. Thanks all.Allen Dick wrote:Keep in mind that many sites block deep linking and will not serve an image if the page on which it occurs is not loaded.

Re: Capturing photos with Internet Explorer
Ironically, EMET (Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit, a free Microsoft tool that can help Windows users beef up the security of third-party applications) crashes Internet Exploder, so I have not been able to use IE without disabling EMET.
EMET has given me no problems with other software. As I say, ironic, isn't it?

(Edit) That got me curious so I Googled the issue and found that I had to uncheck EAF+ for IE in EMET and Bob's your uncle. IE works! Still... ????
