I read and hear people referring to "lots of capped brood".
What is meant by "lots of brood" in terms of how many well filled frames?
How much is "lots of brood"?

Re: How much is "lots of brood"?
I think it varies with whoever is saying it, there is no specific definition...and it isn't all going to be capped- it will be in all stages.
In my case, I would say that 6 out of 10 frames (per box) is good, while 8 out of 10 frames is very good.
Really, you have to get whoever is saying it to be more specific.

I agree with BBK, 6 frames of capped brood, (12 sides) is good, and with a couple frames of stores on each side it is time for a second brood box.
If the second box is similar, pile on the honey supers.
