The Bee Language Controversy Lives On

My friend, Adrian Wenner sent his to me.

The controversy seems to have simmered down, with most observers having concluded that there is evidence that bee dances contain information, but there are technical academic arguments over whether bees can glean information from these 'dances' and how we should understand the information gathered from decades of observation and experimentation.

Adrian is an interesting and accomplished fellow and I still recall the supper my late wife and I shared with Adrian and his wife in Santa Barbara in 2006.

Dear Adrian,

As I have told you in my e-mail from January 18th 2015 I have now finished a small booklet in which I, among other new information about the bees, offer a synthesis between von Frisch and Wenner. Both of you laid important roots and contributed important data.

This booklet is in German first but will come in English also.

As a generous gift the AUDI-car-company allows me to give this book away for free , including free shipping.

I will send you a signed copy and ask you for your postal address for this. Thank you.

However, here follows the instruction how to order the book (as said: completely cost-free!) via e-mail, in case you want to invite other colleagues to this option.

With very best wishes,
Jürgen.

Start
Here comes a hint for a free (no costs, also not for shipping!) new book on honeybees:

The AUDI company sponsors the free distribution (book and shipping is paid by AUDI) of my new small book on new results on honeybee biology, mostly based on HOBOS-observations).

The book is in German first but will also be translated into English maybe next year.

As the book contains lots of excellent bee photos made by Helga R. Heilmann it may be interesting to get it also for non-German readers, even as the (short) text does not help very much for non-German readers..

The books are given away for free as long as the stock lasts. Therefore fast reaction is advised.

If interested, please order via this homepage

I would be happy if you make use of it and spread this offer also to other friends of bees.

Best regards,
Jürgen Tautz.

Seems hoggish to order one when I can barely puzzle out german. If you get word of this being offered in English I would love to buy a copy as I doubt I will ever buy an Audi.

You could aways just find a copy of Adrian's book, published decades ago: The Bee Language Controversy.
