Applying meat soaker pads with about 30ml of 65% formic acid onto top bars of a beehive to control both Tracheal and Varroa mites.  For tracheal mites, three treatments five to seven days apart are required.  For varroa, five to six treatments are necessary. The brown patties on the top bars are remains of pollen supplement.  This treatment is taking place on Sept 10, 1999
